Eschmann delighted to support wildlife charity

16th Sep 2024 in Dental, Animal Health, Healthcare

At Eschmann, we believe it is important to give something back and we are proud to support worthy causes whenever we can. That’s why we were thrilled to be able to help when we learnt about the infection control challenge being faced at the Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service Enfield recently.

The Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service rescues and rehabilitates sick, injured, orphaned or trapped animals and wild birds, aiming to restore their health and release them back into the wild. Any animals that can’t be released remain at a sanctuary, such as the Centre in Trent Country Park, which is currently home to around 160 permanent residents.

As part of the animal rehabilitation and care delivered, it is important that staff at the Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service have access to high-quality tools and technologies. This includes reliable decontamination equipment that ensures the safety of the animals, staff and visitors to the centre.

When their existing autoclave broke down, the team faced the dilemma of replacing the equipment with a high-quality and long-lasting model that would enable them to continue their fantastic work. As a charity, there were also concerns about where the funding for a reliable piece of equipment would come from. John Gladstone, veterinary surgeon at the charity, contacted Eschmann to see what we could do and we were only too happy to help.

John kindly shared what the donation of an Eschmann autoclave meant to the charity and its team:

“My autoclave was broken, and I needed a new one. When I looked online, I knew Eschmann had the ‘Rolls Royce’ of autoclaves, but I thought there was no way I could afford one.

“I called Eschmann, and spoke to their representative who was very polite, helpful, and within a day or two they offered a reconditioned Little Sister autoclave that had hardly been used. I only had to pay for the transport and set up – I couldn't believe my luck!

“Installation was fantastic, there were no problems. It was completed by a super gentleman who gave me a number to call with any difficulties I may have.

“The autoclave was even better than I could have hoped, with all the bells and whistles that are most useful. I’m very appreciative of Eschmann for their willingness to help.”

With such a reliable, robust and efficient new autoclave in place at the Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service Enfield, the birds and other animals in need of rescue and rehabilitation can continue to receive the care they need.

For us all at Eschmann, it has been a pleasure to support this amazing wildlife charity in this small way.
